Resumption of In-Person Classes on Jan. 11, 2021

Jan 9, 2021

Dear Parents,

A Happy and Healthy New Year to all!

On Monday January 11, 2021, our School will welcome its students back to in-person classes with great joy.   We consider it necessary to remind you of some important operational rules in order to ensure the best possible conditions that will allow our students to remain in a school environment.

The following measures are in place for in-person attendance:

1.     Mandatory temperature screening before boarding school buses.  Any student with a temperature of 37.5º C or above will not be permitted to board.

2.     Mandatory use of face masks while at school.

3.     Assigned seating for all students riding school buses, which is determined by school bus chaperones.

4.     Students who are transported to School by private mini-vans follow the same rules except for temperature screening, which is carried out upon the students’ arrival at School. Parents are kindly requested to inform min-van drivers about the observation of rules and to send us electronically the mini-van assigned seating chart, as well as contact telephone numbers for drivers and chaperones.

ATTENTION!

Organizational issues regarding School operation

1.  All students must wear face masks. Upon entering School, they disinfect their hands at the antiseptic stations.

2.   Desks are arranged to all face in the same direction and students are assigned seats, which may change as necessary.

3.   Classrooms are constantly ventilated.

4.   Classrooms are disinfected during breaks, as well as when students move to another classroom/facility for lessons.

5.   There is a permanent cleaning staff in the restrooms, where they also oversee that social distancing rules are enforced.

6.   Students are prohibited from exchanging/sharing materials (kindly check to see that your child brings only necessary materials to school, such as textbooks, notebooks, pencil cases).

7.   Students eat meals in their respective classrooms (homerooms).  Lunches from the School menu are served in individual, disposable containers. Students who bring their own meal from home will be unable to re-heat it.

8.   Each section takes a break in a specific, dedicated area. Masks must be worn at all times during breaks.

9.   All areas where students take breaks are supervised by teaching staff.

10. In the event that a student becomes ill at School, protocols set by EODY (Public Health Authority) are implemented (i.e. student remains in a special are, parents are notified to come and collect their child).

Our daily life during this period has changed considerably.  Health safety procedures are an immediate priority in order to provide our students with maximum protection in all facets of school life.

As parents, do your part by continuing to observe safety guidelines issued by the State so that our students’ daily routines both in and out of school run smoothly.

Sincerely yours,

Dimitris E. Siamopoulos
Director
