Ibero-American Literature Festival in Athens (June 8-19, 2018)

This year’s celebration of the 10th anniversary of the LEA Festival is part of the “Athens World Book Capital 2018” series of events!

This year’s celebration of the 10th anniversary of the LEA Festival is part of the “Athens World Book Capital 2018” series of events, an international distinction bestowed on the municipality and the city of Athens from UNESCO for one year, from April 23, 2018 to April 22, 2019. It has been a rich and vibrant decade – ten years of tough teamwork, with dedication and persistence on the part of each participant, organization and player – which has rendered the LEA Festival a top event for the dissemination of Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese literature to the Greek public. What was a dream has become a great victory for those who worked hard to make LEA happen year after year, and with great improvements along the way.  It is with sincere appreciation to each and all who played a part in its success.

The 10th LEA Festival offers direct contact with foreign and local writers, translators, educators, actors, narrators, photographers, musicians and dancers who are involved in wide gamut of cultural and entertainment events.  The Festival is geared towards all ages and preferences, with free admission and Greek translations to all events. Over 15 cultural venues accommodate the Festival’s events, including Lefkada and Crete which will host some of them.
