Athens College Libraries
The library supports and complements the educational process for both students and teachers and promotes a love of reading. It provides a bright, quiet and pleasant setting for individual and group work. Apart from equipping students with materials to meet their academic responsibilities, it is also a space for personal development and entertainment, where they can discover their interests through books.
In our four lending libraries, students can select from approximately 140,000 volumes of books, journals, databases and audiovisual materials that are age-appropriate. Skilled librarians are ready to guide them to locate that for which they are looking.
Through a globally unparalleled information literacy program, students are introduced to the use of information sources. They learn how to do research, evaluate information and properly document their sources.
Library activities are enriched with presentations, displays, and lectures by writers and other persons from the realm of books, exhibitions, music, and other school events.
All members of the College community – students, educators, staff, alumni, as well as those who attend or teach in other Hellenic-American Educational Foundation programs – have access to the library’s collections. Our school’s main library in Psychico is open to the public as a reading library.
