Elementary School, Junior High School & High School
The German program aims to provide students of our Schools with the opportunity to graduate with adequate knowledge of a second foreign language, as well as the ability to pass foreign language certifications exams. German language diplomas align with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe.
The program incorporates modern teaching methodologies and is delivered by carefully selected, qualified educators. Lessons are supported by appropriate materials and are enriched with participation in cultural events, library use, and other activities.
The Foreign Language Center offers a program of Creative Activities in German for students in Elementary School Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4. Drawing on rich and colorful materials, and designed to engage children's cognitive and emotional development, we have created a special educational program featuring experiential language activities, such as songs, games, vocabulary cards, pantomime, arts and crafts, and storytelling.
At the end of the school year, the Foreign Language Center organizes educational/cultural trips abroad. Students enrolled in the Center will be given priority for these trips.
Additionally, a supplementary program of studies has been developed for students in Junior High School and High School who wish to prepare for German language certification exams. Lessons are structured into three cycles, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Α. 1st cycle Beginner level A1 - A2 - B1J
Students are taught the vocabulary and fundamental structures of the German language to develop written and oral communication skills for everyday situations. This level prepares them for the A1, A2 and B1J diploma exams.
Depending on their level, students prepare for the A1, A2, or B1J diplomas in Junior High School Grade 1, 2, or 3.
Β. 2nd cycle Intermediate level B2J - C1J
Students further develop their language skills by improving fluency in both oral and written communication, expanding their vocabulary, and deepening their understanding of grammar through specialized texts. In the process, they work toward mastering the language while also gaining greater insight into the culture of German-speaking countries. This level prepares them for the B2J and C1J diploma exams (Goethe-Institut Athen or Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch).
Depending on their level, students prepare for the B2J or C1J diplomas in Junior High School Grade 3 or High School Grade 1.
TestDaF
In response to the growing interest among students in pursuing higher education at German and Austrian universities, a specialized preparatory course for the TestDaF exam is offered. The TestDaF corresponds to the B2J/C1J levels and is recognized by all universities in Germany and Austria as official proof of language proficiency required for admission.
C. 3rd cycle Advanced level C2
This level prepares students for the C2 diploma exam.
