Student-members of Psychico College High School’s Young Entrepreneurs Club placed second in the competition “Best Promo Video of a Student Virtual Business 2021” with their entry named “Pet-Link.”  “Pet Link” is a unique website that “selects” for animal lovers their ideal pet “companion,” as well as suggests alternative forms of pet-adoption.

The competition took place on Saturday, April 17 with 55 student “start ups” from general junior high and high schools, as well as vocational, night and special schools from around Greece, vying for a top position.

This year, 35 students participate in Psychico College High School's Young Entrepreneurs Club and Mr. Thanos Karamitsas, Ms. Eleni Markopoulou and Mr. Panagiotis Statiris are their teachers/advisors. 

Our students created an app that offers the first comprehensive, across-the-board solution for the animal adoption chain (animal lovers – animals – animal welfare organizations – companies – veterinarians – pet products). With the help of experts in the field, they first created a two-way, specially designed questionnaire that is completed by anyone wishing to adopt a stray.  A corresponding questionnaire is completed by animal welfare organizations on the nature and characteristics of the animals they are hosting in their shelters and which are up for adoption.

The Pet-Link app then codifies the answers and forms a digitally editable profile of both the prospective pet adopter and the animals up for adoption.  By cross-referencing the results, it is able to suggest the animals that have the greatest degree of relevance and compatibility with the animal lover.

The virtual company’s website also offers the option of virtual pet adoptions and of registering pets in the first blood bank for dogs.

Last of all, the website’s e-shop provides appropriate products for every dog.
