On Monday, September 28, 2026, the Shipping Club held an event at the School’s Theater to celebrate World Maritime Day. Students from Junior High School Grade 3 and High School Grades 1 and 2 at Athens College and Psychico College attended.

The event featured four shipping industry representatives who have supported the College Shipping Club since its establishment: Ismini Panagiotidi ’00 (Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer, Pavimar S.A. & Icon Energy Corp), Christos Timagenis (Partner, Timagenis Law Firm; 1st Vice President of the International Propeller Club), Alexandra Tsavliris ’98 (Principal of Tsavliris Group), and Giannis Fostiropoulos ’02 (Founding Director, Almi Tankers S.A.). The four speakers answered students’ questions about career opportunities in the shipping industry and the challenges facing shipping companies, including international regulations, safety, and climate change.

The event was organized by students in the Shipping Club, under the supervision of Mr. Sokratis Kougeas.
