Athens College High School Grade 1 students participate in the 1st Panhellenic Student Conference on Mathematics and Literature
On Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, 2026, the 1st Panhellenic Student Conference on Mathematics and Literature was held under the title “The Poetry of Numbers and the Logic of Words in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” at the Serres campus of the International Hellenic University. The Conference was organized by the Serres Directorate of Secondary Education, the International Hellenic University, the Association of Philologists of the Prefecture of Serres, and the Hellenic Mathematical Society (Serres Branch).
High School Grade 1 students took part in the conference proceedings by delivering their presentations, gaining opportunities to exchange ideas, develop research and communication skills, and broaden their intellectual horizons. Through this experience, they were encouraged to view knowledge as an interconnected and complementary whole, approached from an interdisciplinary perspective.
The students whose projects were presented at the Conference were the following:
- Ioanna Karatza and Paraskevi Toutouza - Title: "The Love Story of 6 and 7"
- Eirini-Sofia Mayrogiorgou - Title: " Mathematics and Language, Language and Mathematics: Similarities and Differences"
- Ilia Konstantinidi and Paraskevi Lazarakou - Title: "The Beauty of Mathematics in Literature and Poetry"
