Connecting Cultures: eTwinning at Athens College Elementary School

Feb 21, 2024

At Athens College Elementary School, we embrace the spirit of collaboration and cultural exchange through innovative programs like eTwinning. This European initiative connects schools across the continent, fostering meaningful partnerships and enriching educational experiences through digital collaboration. We are, therefore,  delighted to share our participation in the Festivity Card Exchange project, an exciting eTwinning project that celebrates cultural diversity and holiday traditions across Europe. Initiated under the guidance of Ms. Faye Kafetzopoulou, Grade 4 students at Athens College Elementary School have embarked on a journey of discovery and creativity.

The project invites students to exchange festivity cards and multimedia presentations, showcasing the unique customs and traditions observed during significant holidays. Participating schools from countries such as the Czech Republic, Georgia, Romania, Poland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Slovakia and Finland have joined us in this cultural exchange. Our students have already eagerly contributed to this initiative, creating beautiful cards and presentations about Greece.  The Festivity Card Exchange project has been a rewarding experience for our students, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their creativity, learn about new cultures, and forge meaningful connections with their peers across Europe. As the project continues, we look forward to further cultural enrichment and the cultivation of lasting friendships.

At Athens College Elementary School, we are committed to providing our students with transformative learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom walls. Through initiatives like the Festivity Card Exchange project, we strive to nurture global citizens who embrace diversity, respect differences, and celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make our world unique.
