Athens College Grade 9 student and member of the National Cheerleading Team, Maria Zavra, received the following distinctions:

• 2nd place in the Youth Hip Hop category and 7th place in the Junior Pom category in the European Cheerleading Championship, which was held in Verona, Italy from June 30 to July 2, 2023
• 1st place in both the Junior Team Cheer Pom and Young Hip Hop categories, in the 7th National Cheerleading Championship, which took place at OAKA stadium on June 23-24, 2023, and has qualified, with her team, for the European Championship which will be held in Norway, in 2024, as well as for the 2024 International Cheerleading Championship.
