Athens College awards Scholarships of Special Interest to students who have demonstrated outstanding performance in Athletics or the Arts:

  • Up to three scholarships for Athens College or Psychico College 6th grade Elementary School students and for students who succeed in the Entrance Examinations for Junior High School 7th grade who have documented excellence and special distinctions in Athletics or the Arts (Music or Visual Arts.)
  • Up to three scholarships for Athens College or Psychico College 9th grade Junior High School students and for students who succeed in the Entrance Examinations for High School 10th grade who have documented excellence and special distinctions in Athletics or the Arts (Music or Visual Arts.)

Students who are discerned must also have “excellent” conduct (by an act of the Faculty Association for JHS 9th grade students and by a recommendation letter from their primary school’s administration for 6th grade students).

Scholarships of Special Interest cover 100% of tuition fees and continue to be granted until the recipient’s graduation from the school unit in which they are received, Junior High School or High School (three years), as long as the criteria of the Scholarships of Special Interest are met. At the end of each academic year, the continuation of the scholarship will be re-examined.

In the event that the family is in need of financial aid, there is the possibility of awarding an additional amount for the transportation fees as well as up to 1,500 euros to cover the cost of books and other educational expenses.

In the event that there is an insufficient number of successful candidates who meet the above criteria, then some or all of the Scholarships of Special Interest may not be awarded.
