The Best Christmas Present

The Best Christmas Present

Author : Liza Varvogli-Kaskaveli
Edition : Modern Times
Class name : 1st-3rd

Lalina is counting down the days to Christmas, her favorite holiday of the year.  This year, her joy is twofold.  She has grown up; therefore, not only will she get gifts, she, too, will give presents to others.  Without wasting another moment, she sits at her desk, accompanied by her kitten, pencil and paper in hand, and begins to make a list of what she will give to each of her family members.  For her brother, she will get a game that involves tricks and pranks; for her mother, a box with compartments to store small items; for her father, a heart-shaped photo frame; for her grandfather, a new toolset.  But, what will she get her grandmother who will spend Christmas far away from them?  It has to be something different, unique and wonderful… something very special that will fill her with joy… something like a big hug and two, sweet kisses.  But something like that doesn’t fit into a box.  So, how will she send it by post?
