Elementary School Grade 1 students visited the traditional Zachaios Winery and saw firsthand how grapes make their way from the vineyard to the wine press. They discovered different grape varieties, learned about harvest customs, and stomped grapes with their own feet, just as people did in the past. The visit ended on the sweetest note, as the children made their own delicious grape must cookies (moustokouloura)!

Through direct contact with tradition and hands-on learning, the children brought what they learned to life, discovering part of our local heritage with all their senses.
