Elementary School Grade 1 students talked about diversity and the special qualities that make each of us who we are. They then traced around their hands and added a trait that makes each of them special, discovering that, even though we are all different, each of us has something valuable to offer the class.

Through this activity, the children learned to respect, accept, and appreciate what makes each person special, realizing that a class becomes stronger and more beautiful when it embraces the diversity of all its members.
