Psychico College Elementary School Grade 2 students visit the Vorres Museum: Recycling Meets Art!

Oct 19, 2026

Grade 2 students at Psychico College Elementary School visited the Vorres Museum, where they took part in an engaging educational program on recycling. The visit was linked to the transdisciplinary theme “How We Organize Ourselves” and helped students deepen their understanding of the relationship between people and the environment while also exploring connections to art and cultural heritage.

During their tour of the museum, the children discovered that materials often considered useless can be given new life and transformed into unique works of art!

In particular, they learned how artist Pavlos Sotiropoulos used strips of street posters to create his works, and admired George Vorres’s original bouquet made from bottle caps. They also discovered how old fabrics can be incorporated into works of art, as demonstrated by a piece by Logothetis. Finally, the students became artists themselves, creating their own works of art using recyclable materials.

Through this inspiring experience, the children discovered that recycling is not only a way to protect the environment but also an endless source of inspiration, imagination, and creativity.
