Athens College Elementary School – English Department: Participation in Bow Seat Ocean Awareness
The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is collaborating with the Bow Seat Ocean Awareness program, an international initiative that involves young people in environmental art and storytelling.
As part of the collaboration, Bow Seat shared 10 award-winning artworks inspired by the ocean. For each artwork, a creative connection is established:
- with the Bow Seat artist,
- with students from the YRE (Young Reporters for the Environment) network in South Africa, who write reflective articles and propose environmental solutions,
- with students from the YRE network in Greece, who create photographs inspired by the artworks and accompany them with descriptive texts.
As part of Greece's participation, the Young Reporters for the Environment from our School collaborated with the Junior High School in Kamares, Achaea, to create a photograph accompanied by text linking it to the award-winning artwork. Their entry was widely praised for its creativity and meaningful connection to the artwork!
The works will be presented in a new interactive virtual gallery developed by FEE, where visitors can browse and discover the creations of the winners of the International YRE Competition.
