Educational visit by teachers to Ecolint Schools in Geneva
On Thursday, February 19, and Friday, February 20, members of the Administration, along with teachers from the "J.M. Karras" Kindergarten and the Athens College and Psychico College Elementary Schools, visited the Ecolint schools in Geneva (École internationale de Genève - La Châtaigneraie and École internationale de Genève - Campus des Nations). These schools are recognized as global leaders in education and have played a decisive role in shaping contemporary IB programmes. The purpose of the visit was to deepen our understanding of PYP implementation and further strengthen our inquiry-based and experiential learning practices through field observations.
During the visit, our school team observed classes from Early Years through Year 6, met with teachers and staff from both Swiss schools, and examined a variety of pedagogical approaches. They also participated in collaborative lesson-planning sessions focused on concept deconstruction and its connection to the Sustainable Development Goals.
This experience offered valuable professional development opportunities for our educators, enriched our collective reflection on inquiry-based learning and inclusive practices, and opened new pathways for creative collaboration between our schools. At the same time, it underscored the importance of international dialogue as a catalyst for educational enrichment, reaffirming our commitment to cultivating a modern, open, and multilingual learning environment for all students.
