Athens College Elementary School Grades 3 & 4 - Eco...Christmas at our School
On Tuesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 3, students in Elementary School Grades 3 and 4, along with their parents and teachers, got into the holiday spirit through an activity that combined creativity and environmental awareness. Using recyclable and natural materials, they made original Christmas decorations and adorned the real trees donated by the Parents & Guardians Association, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere at the School's entrance. Because Christmas is more beautiful when it is both eco-friendly and eco-logical!
The festive mood was completed with the Choir Club's melodies, under the guidance of Ms. E. Andrioti, who drew us into the spirit of Christmas.
This activity is a prime example of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) philosophy: it enhances creativity, promotes an interdisciplinary approach by combining environmental education, art, and social awareness, and fosters values such as responsibility, cooperation, and respect for the environment. In addition, some of the decorations will be donated to "Floga," giving our initiative an even more meaningful social dimension.
And our ecological efforts don't end there! The real trees decorated by our students will be planted in the forest after the holidays, symbolising the 100th anniversary of our school and leaving a green footprint for the future.
We extend our warmest thanks to our School's Parents and Guardians Association for their support, as well as to all the parents who responded to our call!
