Psychico College Elementary School Grade 2 - Lesson in the vegetable garden: Legumes
Grade 2 students visited our School's vegetable garden as part of the PYP transdisciplinary theme "Taking Care of My Body," through which they are currently exploring the importance of proper nutrition and personal well-being.
The students were welcomed by our agronomist, who introduced them to the nutritional value of legumes and explained their role in maintaining good health through a balanced daily diet.
The children had the opportunity to touch, observe, and compare different types of legumes, identifying their differences. They then planted them in the beds of our school vegetable garden, experiencing the cultivation process firsthand.
The day concluded with a creative activity in which the students created a colorful mosaic using legumes, blending their newly acquired knowledge with imagination and artistic expression.
This experience beautifully combined learning, healthy nutrition, and creativity!
