Athens College Elementary School - October in our Library: Start of events with beloved heroes and authors
In October, our Library reopened its doors with a rich program of presentations, offering students unique reading experiences.
Grade 1 students had the opportunity to meet the distinguished English author Tom Percival and explore his unique works, as well as fall in love with the hero Alfons through the books of Swedish author Gunilla Bergström.
In Grade 2, two classes experienced the magic of "Leila, the Perfect Witch" by Flavia Zorrilla Drago through a dramatized narration.
Grade 5 students attended a presentation of the book "Otan paizame gia ti niki, Karagkiozi mou" ("When We Played for Victory, Karagiozis") by Yota Alexandrou, which highlights historical references to the Greco-Italian War and the German occupation.
Finally, Grade 6 classes had the honor of attending tributes to beloved Greek authors. Author Dikaios Hatziplis and historian Athena Zotou-Varouta presented the work of Georges Sari, while Athena Zotou-Varouta also analyzed the life and work of author Pantelis Kaliotsos, offering students a unique connection to Greek literary and historical heritage.
Our Library continues to be a place of inspiration and creativity, where students discover the world of reading through beloved heroes and remarkable authors.
