On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, students and teachers from the Volunteerism and Cooking Clubs of Athens College Elementary School had the pleasure of welcoming The Love Van, along with its founder, Mr. Lefteris Paraskevas and his partner Mr. Makis Kalaras, for a meaningful and deeply moving social service initiative.

The goal of the collaboration was to prepare 180 meals, which were distributed the same day to homeless individuals in Athens and Piraeus. The students contributed the raw ingredients and packaging materials, and – guided by their teachers, Ms. P. Benetou, Ms. S. Mandalou, and Ms. L. Zachou — worked alongside the guests to prepare wholesome, homemade meals complete with sweet treats.

Throughout the activity, the students worked as a team, followed recipes carefully, showcased their culinary skills and, most importantly, demonstrated empathy and a strong sense of social responsibility. The initiative concluded with everyone sharing and enjoying the warm meals they had lovingly prepared.

We are proud of the enthusiasm and dedication our students showed. Initiatives like this foster core values, promote social awareness, and help shape tomorrow's active, compassionate citizens.
