Psychico College Elementary School Grade 6 - Children's Entrepreneurship Program
As part of the interdisciplinary PYP unit "How we organize ourselves", the Children's Entrepreneurship Program was implemented once again at Psychico College Elementary School. The students explored the unit's central idea: how organization within systems promotes interaction and effective coordination, enabling the achievement of shared goals. All Elementary School Grade 6 students participated in the program, guided by their class counselors, and supported by advisors from various disciplines who contributed their expertise. Parents also played an active role, serving as business mentors and entrepreneurship trainers.
English philosopher H. Spencer, once said, "The great aim of education is not knowledge, but action". This action led the students to found and organize their own original start-up business. Through this process, they not only applied theoretical knowledge, but also cultivated key skills such as creativity, collaboration, self-assessment, self-regulation, decision-making, and digital literacy.
The program concluded with an exhibition, where each class presented their work, from the founding of their companies to the research they conducted, the tools and resources they used, and, most importantly, the outcomes and reflections on their entrepreneurial journey.
