The festivities of our School for the Clean Monday Holiday were filled with traditional sounds, dances, costumes, and colors from the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Spata in a presentation of the carnival customs around Greece. We enjoyed folk dances such as Cordellatos, horses, brooms of Leros, Vlacha of Naxos, and Pyrgousikos of Chios.

We thank the President of the Club Maria Koulocheri and their dance teacher Iliana Thymioupoulou for the wonderful beginning of our collaboration to bring our children close to our authentic roots. 

And of course the day's sunshine allowed us to close the presentation by re-enacting the custom of the flour throwing festival on Clean Monday in Galaxidi!
