Event on International Day of Persons with Disabilities for Psychico College Grade 1 and Grade 2 Students

Dec 12, 2022

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (celebrated on December 3) was an opportunity to raise awareness and provide information that will strengthen the inclusive character of our School.

On Friday, December 2, 2022, we welcomed Mr. Kostas Schizas, a disabled archery athlete who discussed with Grade 1 and 2 students, and answered their questions concerning mobility disability and life in a wheelchair, in a simple and straightforward manner.

Our young students participated in a series of educational activities related to the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities. In particular, they learned about the different forms of disability through presentations, developed their empathy through experiential activities and were trained in the proper way to communicate with a disabled person in their daily life.

The event contributed not only to the cultivation of responsibility and respect towards people with disabilities, but also to the promotion of a culture that embraces all kinds of diversity. All members of the school community take an active role in making our School an inclusive school. Because it is what is there that matters, not what is missing!
