200th Anniversary of the Greek Revolution

Benakeio 1

Athens College celebrated the 200 year anniversary from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 by organizing a special tribute. It included lectures from distinguished university professors for our students, and a series of events and activities in all school units, to commemorate the events of the Revolution and honor this historic anniversary.

Our School dedicated the 2020-2021 academic year to patriotism, under the heading “A historical Greek school honors the history of its homeland – National Awareness – Patriotic Mindset: Foundation of Education – “Compass” of the College’s timeless contributions”.

Over the course of the year, our students participated in various activities inspired by the events of the Revolution. Students gave their own insight on the Greek War of Independence through works of art, projects, videos, speech writing competitions and many more.

On this page we present a sample of the activities organized by our School as part of the special tribute for the 200-year anniversary of the Greek Revolution.
