A group of students and teachers from Greenwood House School in Nigeria visited Athens College Elementary School on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. They were welcomed by School Director Mr. Giannis Kalogeras, and Coordinator of the English Department, Ms. Faye Kafetzopoulou, and were given a tour of Bodossakeio together with members of the Student Community. Also, during this visit, teachers and students from Nigeria:

a)    Attended a presentation on Greece organized by the English section 5ENL and their teacher, Ms. Faye Kafetzopoulou

b)    planted aromatic herbs native to our country in flowerbeds outside the Dining Hall together with children from the Environmental and Gardening Club, under the guidance of the supervising teachers of the Club, Ms. Marianthi Giannakopoulou, Mr. G. Tzouvistas and Ms. A. Chatziapostolou

c)    met with Grade 3, section d students and their teacher Ms. Eleana Koulakou, during which time the students of the section sang the song "Omorfi Zoi" to lyrics by L. Nikolakopoulou (arrangement: La vita e bella by Nicola Piovani), identified Nigeria and Greece on the world map and exchanged the word "Thank you" in Greek and in the Hausa dialect of Nigeria, and

d)    had lunch together with members of the Student Community at the Dining Hall where they enjoyed traditional Greek dishes.

Before the guests’ departure from Bodossakeio, they were presented with two commemorative plaques of the College along with bouquets of flowers, and the flags of Greece and Athens College.
