Merit Scholarships

 

The “Merit Scholarship” Program, rewards students who perform exceedingly well on the College examinations for admission into the 1st year of Junior High, 1st year of High School, and 1st year of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

The examination subjects for 1st year of Junior High and 1st year of High School are Greek Language, English Language and Mathematics. For IB1 they are Mathematics, English Language and General Knowledge/Critical Thinking.

Distinguished students must also have «excellent» conduct (by act of the Faculty Association).

Merit Scholarships cover 100% of tuition fees as well as transportation fees.

 

Scholarships of Special Interests

 

Two special scholarships, one for Athletics and one for Arts (music or visual arts), will be granted to students who succeed in the entrance examinations for 1st year of Junior High School and demonstrate excellent performance and have special distinctions in athletics and the arts.

Distinguished students must also have “excellent” conduct (by act of the Faculty Association).

Scholarships of Special Interests cover 100% of tuition fees as well as transportation fees.

 

Merit Awards

 

Granted to currently enrolled students of the College who are distinguished for their excellent academic performance as well as overall ethos and conduct. Merit Awards are granted to students in the 3rd year of Junior High School and 2nd year of High School with the following criteria:

  • Their cumulative grades of the past two years (1st and 2nd year for 3rd year Junior High School students and 3rd year of Junior High School and 1st year of High School for 2nd year High School students)
  • Overall ethos and “excellent” conduct

A Merit Award is granted in each school unit (Junior High and High School) of Athens College and Psychico College. In the event of ties in students’ GPAs, then more than one award per school division may be given.

Each student is given a Certificate of Excellence as well as a monetary prize of 1.000 euros that is applied to its tuition fees.
