High School Programs - For 1st Lykeion

The following programs are private high schools that open their doorsin the summer to high school students from around the world. Therefore, they are suitable for students from A Lykeiou. Most of the schools have beautiful campuses and are located in safe, small towns. They have good academic programs but also lots of activities like sailing, horseback riding, tennis, etc. We have sent students to the following programs. Request information by click on the website, calling the phone number or faxing. January and February are the months for making applications. Total costs rang between $4,000 and 5,000 for a five-week program. Very limited financial aids is available at some programs. Come to the Placement Office (room 209) for further information.

    University Programs - Primarily for 2nd and 3rd Lykeion

    The following programs are run by universities. Sometimes the program is only for high school students. Sometimes the classes include regular university students including graduate students. Some programs are open only to juniors (11th graders or students now in B Lykeiou or IB-l) and seniors (3rd Lykeio or IB-2). Some programs require that a student be at least 16 before applying.

    Check the web sites carefully to see if you would be allowed to attend. With many of these programs, you can get credit for college work when you enter an American university. We have sent students to most of the following programs. Request information by clicking on the website, calling the phone number or writing a letter. January and February are the months for making applications. Total costs range between $4,000 and $5,000. Financial aid is available for international students in some programs.

    IB Programs - Oxford Study Courses runs three week pre-I.B. courses at Cambridge, Harvard, and M.I.T. In general, these courses are not as academically challenging as other summer programs, but they do give the student a flavor of studying abroad.
