Mar 14, 2025

From Wednesday, February 19 to Saturday, February 22, 2025, thirty-eight Junior High School 3 students from the Physics Thinking and Astronomy Club of Athens College Junior High School took part in an educational trip to Paris.

Accompanied by teachers Mr. S. Dimitriadis, Ms. S. Nikolaidou, Ms. E. Siotou, and Mr. I. Tzavidopoulos, the students visited the Museum of Modern Art (Palais de Tokyo). In the gallery where Raoul Dufy’s "Spirit of Electricity" is exhibited, they presented individual projects highlighting the lives and scientific contributions of notable physicists depicted in the artwork.

The group continued their educational journey at the Musée des Arts et Métiers (Museum of Arts and Crafts), where they explored iconic scientific exhibits that reflect the evolution of science.

Next, they visited the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie (Science Park of Villette), engaging in individual and group activities across a variety of disciplines, including Physics, Astronomy and Space, Biology, Mathematics, Robotics, and Technology.

To immerse themselves in French culture, the students traveled by metro, explored the hill of Montmartre, visited the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, walked along the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe, and enjoyed a short cruise along the Seine aboard the Bateaux Mouches. The four-day trip concluded with tours of the Louvre Museum, the Notre Dame courtyard, and the Latin Quarter.

Students and teachers returned enriched by their experiences, inspired by knowledge, and eager for future discoveries.
