Psychico College Junior High School students participate in the 8th European Student Conference "Athens-Rome: A Long Journey", organized by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture

Dec 12, 2023
On Novembeρ 26 - December 1 2023, the 8th European Students' Conference was held in Rome with the title: "Athens-Rome: A Long Journey (509 BC - Today). History, Culture, Social and Political Institutions, Democracy".

The aim of the Conference was to highlight the influence of Greek civilization on Roman civilization and, by extension, on the shaping of European civilization.

The group of students who participated in it, under the guidance of Professors An. Gialeli and M. Konstantinou, presented the project on the topic "Ancient Greek theatre and democracy". For the preparation of their paper they conducted extensive research on the role of Ancient Greek theatre in the promotion of Democracy and studied the works of the great tragic poets, Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides. They then selected passages on the subject, which they interpreted in their presentation.

The above conference gave them the opportunity to get in touch with students from other schools and to exchange their experiences on the topics they chose to present and highlight. Students acquired skills such as presenting a research paper to a wide audience, research and collaboration, delving into the timeless principles and values that shaped ancient Greek and Roman civilization.

Congratulations to our students, Athanasiadi Kyriaki-Manto, Anastasopoulou Ioanna, Andreadi Efthimia, Konchylaki Natalia, Kordellidou Alexandra, Michou-Karakiza Vasiliki, Rizopoulou Ariadni, Rodi Eleni, Sarra Androniki-Dorothea, Stamouli Kallirroi, and Trypiniotou Maria-Eirini, on their excellent presentation at the Conference.
