Psychico College Junior High School "Training at the United Nations" Club participates in WFUNA (World Federation of United Nations Associations) Workshops

Psychico College Junior High School students, members of the "Training at the United Nations" Club participated in the WFUNA (World Federation of United Nations Associations) workshops held in Geneva from March 5 to March 10, 2023.

The aim of the Workshops was to to instill in the students the basic concepts and values on which the United Nations International Organization is founded in order to defend world peace.

Students attended presentations by representatives of organizations which are closely linked to the prevention and resolution of conflicts, the respect for human rights, and the safeguarding of health. 

They visited the Red Cross Organization and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, and conversed with a member of the Consulate General of Greece in Geneva. They also took a guided tour around the historical center of the city of Geneva. Finally, they attended part of the regular session held by the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The presentations attended by the students were on the following topics:

  • Diplomacy and Multilateralism
  • Humanitarian Law
  • Human Rights
  • Career Development
  • Handling an Epidemic
  • Greening the Globe

The Workshops ended with the successful evaluation of students' work and Certificates of Attendance were given to them. The coordinators of the Club were Ms. Betty Priovolou and Mr. Dimitris Kokoroskos who were accompanied by Mr. Antonis Papalexis.
