Student Successes in International Debate Competition

Students from our School competed with great success in international debate competitions.

On the weekend of December 4-5 2021, our School was represented at the online Central European International Debating Championship 2021 with great success by 15 High School students. All three of our teams (all 15 students in total) reached the final rounds of the competition: 

Grand Finalists: Manos Alevras (High School 1, PC), Angeliki Dapsi (High School 1, AC), Maria-Ioanna Kapsampeli (High School 1, AC), Anna Stathopoulou (High School 2, AC), Clio Tzoannos (High School 2, PC) 

Semi Finalists: Irene Gkritzali (High School 1, PC), Nikos Makridis (IB2), Alexia Papageorgiou (High School 1, PC), Ioanna Perroti (High School 2, AC), Maria-Karolina Rokka (High School 2, AC)

Quarter Finalists: Eleni Halkia (High School 1, AC), Leonidas Marinopoulos (High School 1, PC), Maximos Papaioannidis (High School 1, PC), Vassilios Perrotis (High School 1, AC), Amarillis-Aikaterini Tsochantari (High School 1, AC)

Teams from all over Europe, Asia and South Africa participated in the competition.

At the same time, on Saturday, December 4, 2021, 14 of the younger members of our debate team, students in Grade 3 of Junior High School, took their first competitive steps by participating in the international debate competition UCL Juniors 2021. The tournament was organized online by UCL in the United Kingdom, with teams participating from all over Europe.
