Athens College Teams Qualify for International Finals Day of the International Competition for Young Debaters 2021

Three of our School’s teams are among the four Greek teams that qualified to participate in the International Finals Day round of the International Competition for Young Debaters, organized this year by the Cambridge Union.  Open to students up to 15 years of age, this round and the  Greek qualifying round that saw the participation of 88 speakers were organized by the PanHellenic Forensics Association.

Congratulations to the following students from our School who will be going on to International Finals Day:

  • Manos Alevras (PC JHS gr 9) & Eftychia Christodoulou (PC HS gr 10)
  • Eirini Gkritzali (PC JHS gr 9) & Alexia Papageorgiou (PC JHS gr 9)
  • Leonidas Marinopoulos (PC JHS gr 9) & Maximos Papaioannidis (PC HS gr 9)

Congratulations are also in order for Smaragda Oikonomidi (AC HS gr 10) & Ioanna Perroti (AC HS gr 10) who made it to the semi-finals of the Greek competition.

Additionally, the students below achieved significant distinctions on an individual level:

  • 2nd place: Manos Alevras (PC JHS gr 9)
  • 3rd place: Eftychia Christodoulou (PC HS gr 10)
  • 4th place: Maximos Papaioannidis (PC HS gr 9)
  • 7th place: Leonidas Marinopoulos (PC JHS gr 9)
  • 10th place: Ioanna Perroti (AC HS gr 10)
