President Spiros N. Pollalis speaks at 2nd MIT Universal AI Summit

On Tuesday June 30, 2026, President of Athens College Professor Spiros N. Pollalis, participated in a panel discussion held as part of the 2nd MIT Universal AI Summit, which took place at our School theater.
In the discussion titled “From Builders to the AI-Fluent Continent,” Mr. Pollalis, along with Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Eugenidis, President of the Eugenides Foundation, and Mr. Thanos Voulodimos, Associate Professor at the National Technical University of Athens, discussed the rapid developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence and its integration into education. They warned of the risk that students might stop thinking for themselves and emphasized how important it is to educate them on the proper use of Artificial Intelligence as a supportive tool.
The discussion was moderated by Megan Mitchell, Senior Director of Universal Learning at MIT Open Learning.
