As part of its Centennial celebrations, Athens College is organizing an International Education Conference, titled Education and the Great Challenges of the 21st Century on Friday, October 17 to Saturday, October 18 at the Athens College Theater on the Psychico campus, located at 15 Stephanou Delta street, Psychico, 154 52.
The Conference is organized under the auspices of His Excellency, the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Constantine An. Tassoulas.
The Conference aims to foster meaningful dialogue on key issues currently shaping the international educational landscape. Topics will include the future, goals and vision of education; the role of educators; the essential skills students will need to meet modern-day challenges; the integration of Emerging Technologies in teaching and learning; and the role of schools in shaping conscious and active citizens.
Featuring presentations by distinguished international academics, the Conference will showcase innovative research and practices, while the speeches will trigger discussions on current trends in education.
The Conference includes three sessions, dedicated to the topics mentioned above. Round-table discussions with active audience participation will follow after the speeches of each session.
The Conference is structured around three main themes:
I. The Goals and Vision of Education – Shaping the Future of Teaching and Learning
II. Educating Active Global Citizens
III. Emerging Technologies in Education
The Conference welcomes teachers from public, private, and international schools operating in Greece, as well as educators involved in Greek-language education abroad. Professors and students from university Education Departments, education researchers, and representatives of all Greek educational institutions are also invited to attend.
Attendance is free for all participants. Anyone interested in attending the Conference must register. To gain entry to the venue, participants must present the QR code received upon completing their registration.
All participants will receive a Conference folder, a Certificate of Attendance, as well as coffee and meals during breaks.The official languages of the Conference are English and Greek. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided between English and Greek throughout the event.
Please note that there is no option for online attendance. However, all sessions of the Conference will be videorecorded and made available on the School’s website after the event.
