Vassilis Karamitsanis' lecture to High School students

On Monday, January 9, 2023 alumnus and President of the International Animation Film Festival ANIMASYROS Vassilis Karamitsanis ’93 spoke to students of Athens College and Psychico College Grade 11, within the framework of the “Students and Alumni discussions”, organized by the Direction of Welfare and Diversity in collaboration with the Communications Department.

Mr. Karamitsanis was prefaced by Athens College President Professor Costas Synolakis ’75.

He spoke to students on his career path and answered all of their questions regarding the animation film industry.

About Vassilis Karamitsanis

He graduated from Athens College in 1993. He studied Law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and did his postgraduate studies at the Universities of Rotterdam, Hamburg and Aix Marseille III. Since 2002 he is a licensed attorney-at-law of Athens. In 2008 he co-created the International Animation Film Festival ANIMASYROS, where he serves as President.

Since 2015, he has been elected President of ASIFA HELLAS – Greek Animation Association and 2022 President of CIFEJ – International Centre of Films for Children & Young People. In 2008 he was a scholar of the International Visitors Leadership Program of the US Ministry of Defense, in 2018 he was awarded Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of the French Republic, while in 2018-2019 he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Greek National Opera.
