Athens College High School students attend a First Aid seminar

Feb 24, 2023

On Sunday, February 19, 2023, members of the Athens College High School First Aid Club attended a seminar on Basic Life Support and Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (BLS-AED), which is run by the Hellenic Society of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ΕΕΚΑΑ), and is certified by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC). Members of the Athens College Club participated in this seminar again after 3 years, due to the pandemic.

The seminar was held at the facilities of ΕΕΚΑΑ, under the supervision of Mr. Antonis Makris, Pediatrician, Head of the Athens College Medical Services and Scientific Advisor to the School’s First Aid Club, who took over the proper preparation of all participants. After completing the online educational preparatory steps and a pre-course test, students demonstrated great interest while attending the theoretical lectures and practice sessions of the seminar.

All participants (25 students in total), completed with great success the evaluation process and received a Certificate for BLS/AED Provider by the ERC and the ΕΕΚΑΑ, which is valid for 3 years.
