Lecture on Internet Safety

Lecture on Internet Safety

Nov 19, 2020

As part of the educational and informational talks organized by the School, on Thursday, November 19th, at 6:15 p.m., there was an online lecture by the Director of Informatics and Digital Education, Mr. Vassilis Economou, on:

“Internet Safety: Can I go back in time? Information, Rules, but above all, “Finding a Happy Medium”

The lecture raised the burning issue of our time, one that concerns young and old alike, some to a greater extent and others to a lesser: Internet safety while navigating creatively and meaningfully.

The aim was to provide information, but to also make parents reflect, and through them their children, regardless of the age group to which they belong.  To consider, whether devoting more time each day (than what they already devote) to social media, digital games, television, and modern social networks, leaves enough time for important activities that lead to a balanced and quality life.

The Hellenic-American Educational Foundation’s Interschool Coordinator of the Psychoeducational Department, Dr. Maya Alivizatou, prefaced the lecture.

Athens College President, Professor Costas Synolakis, gave the opening remarks.
