A little about the dialogue participants

Dr. Maya Alivizatou ΄93 
Psychologist & Interschool Coordinator, Athens College Psychoeducational Department

After graduating from Athens College, Maya studied psychology at Boston University in the United States. She continued her postgraduate studies at Tufts University’s Department of Child Development where she specialized in child psychosocial development and behavioral issues. She earned her PhD in Psychology from the University of Sheffield in the UK. Maya worked in the field of learning difficulties at a research center and primary school in the United States, both on investigative and clinical levels, before returning to Greece in 1998 where she has been working as a psychologist in elementary and secondary schools. Since 2000, she is School Psychologist at Athens College. In 2008, she co-founded “My Playce” creative activity centers for pre-school children. In 2011she was appointed Interschool Coordinator of the Psychoeducational Department of Athens College 

Myrto Xanthopoulou ΄96 
Consultant – Strategist in Philanthropy and Civil Society 

Myrto, a College alumna and parent, is a Consultant in Philanthropy and Civil Society, with significant and lengthy experience in the field in Greece. She provides strategy consulting services to non-profit organizations, companies and charities on issues related to strategic planning, policy strategy, organizational restructuring, resource finding, program planning and project implementation. During her 11 years of experience at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, she has led the design and implementation of many donations and programs, lending her expertise, experience and knowledge in the field of Civil Society, with an emphasis on Social Welfare. Myrti holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Management from the London School of Economics. Since 2004, she is also an active volunteer and member of the Board at Stray.gr., an organization for the welfare and protection of stray animals.


Xenia Paschopoulou-Mitsaina ΄91 
Career Management Advisor & Certified Professional Resume Writer

Xenia, a parent and alumna, Class Agent - member of the Alumni Fund Drive, and elected member of the Board of Directors of SAKA since 2017, is an Organizational Psychologist, specializing in the evaluation and selection of executives through active headhunting. She has worked in the field of business and human resources for over 22 years, reaching highly responsible roles in multinational and Greek organizations.  She has conducted over 4,200 interviews, 2, 800 hours of professional counseling, 340 executive placements in the labor market, and 300 hours of volunteer work. In 2019, she founded Verified – Matching Experts. Xenia studied Psychology & Sociology at the American College of Greece – Deree and Organizational Behavior & Psychology at City University in London. She is a Certified Professional Interviewer (CEIP, 2021) & Resume Writer (CPRW, 2017) by the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches (PARW), Florida, USA. 

Rebecca Pitsika
CEO, People for Business

Upon completing her studies, Rebecca began her career in the field of human resources at METRO S/M and continued at Ericsson Hellas and Laiki Bank.  From 2003-2007 she was HR Manager at Manpower Hellas and was a member of the company’s Board of Directors.  In 2007 she founded People for Business, wanting to give a different dimension to the field of human resources services.  Rebecca and her company have earned important distinctions, such as “Best Young Entrepreneur,” awarded to her in 2012 by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, while in 2014 she was appointed to participate in the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), a fellow of the US State Department in “Small and Medium Business Development.”  In 2016 she undertook the design and implementation of the Executives Registry of the New Democracy Party as Human Resources Consultant for Kyriakos Mitsotakis.  Rebecca has been included in the “FORTUNE List for Most Powerful Women in Greece” on three occasions (2017, 2019 and 2021).
