Theatrical Performance "First Memories" dedicated to Penelope Delta

On Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 7.30 p.m., the Athens College High School Drama Club will present the performance "First Memories", directed by Angeliki Girkinoudi, at the College Theater.

On the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Athens College in 1925, this year's performance is dedicated to Penelope Delta. This great writer was the daughter of Emmanuel Benakis and wife of Stephanos Delta, two of the pioneers in the founding of Athens College.

Material from her work "First Memories" is used to recreate moments of her childhood and aspects of the social life of the time.

  • What was the position of women and children in the patriarchal society of the 19th century?
  • Is the woman autonomous?
  • How are children educated?

The performance takes us to another era, touches on topical issues of female empowerment and child education, and offers us special emotions.

The performance is part of the events of the student fair Panigyri 2024.
