As part of the collaboration between the Psychoeducational Department and the Administration of Athens College Elementary School, six professional development sessions were held for our teachers, focusing on prevention, mental health promotion, and the social-emotional empowerment of the school community.

The sessions covered topics directly related to everyday school life, such as supporting children through change or loss, developing social skills, recognizing and managing stress, promoting students’ independence and active participation, creating an inclusive learning environment, and identifying early signs of learning and neurodevelopmental difficulties.

Equipped with up-to-date knowledge, practical guidance, and tools they can use right away, teachers are now better prepared to respond with sensitivity and consistency to the diverse needs of our students. The initiative also further strengthened a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment where every child can grow and thrive.
