The World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth (WAICY) is open to students from 6 to 18 years of age and aims to inspire them to learn about and use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve real-world problems. Since its founding in 2018, WAICY has evolved into one of the world’s leading platforms for student innovation in AI, bringing together thousands of participants from dozens of countries each year across four main categories: AI Showcase, Large Language Models, AI-Generated Image, and AI-Generated Video. The Competition’s philosophy is based on the idea that the younger generation should not merely use AI passively, but should also understand it critically, use it creatively and ethically, and transform it into a tool that has a positive impact on society, the environment, and education.
