Athens College Elementary School – Teacher training: Together for a Safe, Supportive, Inclusive School
As part of the collaboration between the Psychoeducational Department and the Athens College Elementary School Administration, six training sessions were held for the School’s teachers, focusing on prevention, mental health promotion, and the social-emotional empowerment of the school community.
The sessions addressed issues that directly affect everyday school life, including supporting children through periods of change or loss, developing social skills, identifying and managing stress, fostering independence and active student participation, creating an inclusive learning environment, and recognizing signs of learning and neurodevelopmental difficulties at an early stage.
Through up-to-date knowledge, practical guidelines, and tools they could apply directly in the classroom, the initiative supported teachers in their important role of responding thoughtfully and consistently to the diverse needs of our students. The training also contributed to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment where every child can develop and thrive.
