Summer School 2026: Level Up with AI!

Jul 6, 2026
Summer School 2026: Level Up with AI, held from June 26 to July 3 for Junior High School and High School students from Athens College and other schools, concluded successfully.

In the “AI: Concepts, Capabilities and Responsibilities” workshop, students explored the fundamental principles of Artificial Intelligence and learned how to use generative AI tools responsibly. They designed their own AI Agents, practiced prompt engineering, created images and advertising videos, and presented their ideas as products and startups. The experience culminated in the transformation of their digital designs into 3D-printed models, combining creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

In the “Next Level Game Coding with AI” workshop, students developed their own game with the support of Artificial Intelligence. The project evolved into a fully functional application, which can now be downloaded and played by anyone!

Students who participated in “Beyond the Microscope: the future of biology with AI” had the opportunity to deepen their skills in microscopy and careful, scientific observation. They learned the fundamentals of DNA and enzymes, reflected on the value of statistics in bioscience, and discussed the impact of Artificial Intelligence on biological research. Through a hands-on, engaging approach, the workshop fostered an appreciation for the breadth and significance of the biosciences.

In the innovative AI Food Design Lab, students used generative Artificial Intelligence as a creative partner throughout the design process, developing, preparing, and refining original culinary creations. Through daily design challenges, they employed AI for brainstorming, crafting effective prompts, selecting ingredients, developing flavor combinations, and presenting their dishes. The workshop demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence can be a tool for creativity and innovation, while encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, and a design-oriented mindset through experiential learning.

We would also like to extend our warmest thanks to our guest speakers. Mr. Lefteris Karapanagiotis offered students a hands-on introduction to robotic prosthetic limbs, while Messrs. Konstantinos Megalokonomos and Spyros Skiadopoulos, shared insights into the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence for businesses, organizations, and even entire nations.
