Meeting between President Spiros Pollalis and alumnus Kyriakos Paganis ’57

May 28, 2026

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the President of Athens College, Professor Spiros N. Pollalis, met with an alumnus and former boarding student of our School, Kyriakos Paganis ’57. Among other topics, they discussed the College’s Scholarship Program, which has supported thousands of children in attending the School over the years, with particular emphasis on the Regional Scholarships.

As a scholarship recipient from Messinia himself, Mr. Paganis noted that the College was his “salvation,” as it provided him with a high-quality education and enabled him to study in the United States and subsequently pursue a successful professional career. He also shared his memories of the Boarding School, which was an integral part of the School until the early 1980s.

It should be noted that Mr. Paganis has established a full scholarship in memory of his parents, with the aim of offering other children the opportunities he received.

In October 2025, he visited our School and toured the exhibition “100 Years of Athens College” at the Theater, where he recalled his school days with great emotion.

Watch the interview he gave for “Drops of College History” (in Greek).
