As part of the collaboration between teachers at Athens College and Psychico College Elementary Schools, Ms. Souliou’s and Ms. Korali’s Grade 5 classes participated in an innovative hybrid French Escape Room.

The activity was integrated into the teaching process and served as an experiential assessment of the class’s communication objectives, in accordance with the principles of the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Through gamification, the children became engaged, took on roles, collaborated, and responded to challenges with enthusiasm.

They first worked in an interactive digital Escape Room, where they were divided into teams and tasked with solving language puzzles and completing missions, gradually advancing to the next level. The activity then moved to the school forest, where the students followed a structured route featuring language challenges and collaborative activities.

Through this experience, they used the French language in authentic communication contexts while developing teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.

The activity concluded with a brief reflection, a symbolic prize, and many wonderful memories!
