Participation and distinctions for Psychico College Junior High School and High School at the 12th ACSTAC Science and Technology Student Conference

May 7, 2026

Our School participated in the 12th ACSTAC Science and Technology Student Conference, organized by Anatolia College in Thessaloniki from March 20 to 22, 2026. Our students presented innovative projects that combined Natural Sciences, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Sustainable Development, earning significant distinctions.

The projects presented were the following:

1. Simulation of human color perception using Arduino: Simulation of the mechanism of human color vision, demonstrating how the brain synthesizes colors through Arduino programming and RGB LEDs.

· Student: Alexios Papoutsis (Junior High School Grade 2)

· Supervising Teacher: Stasini Fragkou

2. Vehicle Collision Analysis: Effects of Speed, Material, and Absorption Thickness: An investigation of the parameters affecting collision force, using sensors and a Python-based system enhanced with Artificial Intelligence to visualize data.

· Students: Orestis Belokas, Nikolas Erotokritos Komianos, Dimitris Vrongistinos

· Supervising Teacher: Vasileios Dimopoulos

3. From the Fall and Oscillation of a Magnet to Regenerative Braking: An experimental investigation of electricity generation during vehicle braking and applying machine learning to predict induced voltage.

· Students: Eleni Rodi, Alexandros Brouchoutas, Athanasios Livieratos, Zoi Politi

· Supervising Teacher: Vasileios Dimopoulos

4. Smart Solar Tracker, an Intelligent Photovoltaic Orientation System: Construction of an intelligent photovoltaic system that determines the optimal panel angle for maximum energy absorption using photosensors and AI algorithms.

· Students: Eleni Rodi, Dimitris Vrongistinos, Michalis Korovesis

· Supervising Teacher: Vasileios Dimopoulos

5. SAFEFORM AI: An intelligent system for real-time strength training safety. Development of an intelligent system to enhance safety and prevent injuries during strength training through artificial intelligence.

· Student: Charalampos Vitoratos

· Supervising Teacher: Konstantinos Dimitriou
