Students Aristi Dalli (High School 1, Athens College) and Ilia Manessi (High School 1, Psychico College), reached the International Semifinal of the International Competition for Young Debaters 2026, which took place on Saturday, May 2 at the Oxford Union.

Our team qualified for the international finals through the Greece Qualifying Round which took place in February of this year. In the International Finals, our students competed with nearly 100 speakers from all over the world. They ranked in the top 8 teams in the international competition, and competed in the international semifinal! This is also the furthest any Greek team has reached in the history of this competition.

ICYD is open to students who are under 16 years old, and this year was organized by the debate team of the Oxford Union, giving our students the opportunity to debate in such a historic venue for rhetoric and public speaking, and to visit the University.

Congratulations to our students for their great success on an international level!
