With a large turnout of schools from across Greece, the 1st Student Festival of Eco-Schools, organized by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN), took place on April 3, 2026, at Technopolis City of Athens. The event was part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the HSPN and was held under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic.

The event was attended by representatives of the government, the academic community, and international organizations, while Minister of Education Sofia Zacharaki emphasized the importance of education for sustainability. A special feature of the festival was the main event, titled “Partnership for Green Education through the International Network of Eco-Schools,” which highlighted the role of education as a key tool for fostering environmental awareness and collective responsibility.

At the same time, student presentations, workshops, activities, and exhibitions were held to showcase innovative environmental initiatives from schools across the country. In this context, our School’s Environmental and Gardening Club participated by presenting our School’s activities at a booth within the exhibition space and distributed aromatic herbs, seeds, and basil plants from our school garden, sending a hopeful and powerful sustainability message.

Our participation in the festival reaffirms our School’s commitment to environmental education and strengthens our belief that our students can become active and responsible citizens for a more sustainable future.
