Psychico College Elementary School Grade 2 STEAM: "Building a water filter"
Grade 2 students visited our School's workshop and participated in a creative STEAM activity focused on environmental protection.
In a hypothetical scenario, they were asked to help a "factory" design and build a water filter. After dividing into groups, they examined the materials they were given, such as felt, tulle, cotton, paper towels, and others, and then constructed their own filters. At the end of the activity, all the teams tested their constructions, discussed their effectiveness, and the behavior of the materials with a view to improving them.
This activity was related to the PYP transdisciplinary theme on water, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with experiential learning through experimentation and collaboration.
