Nov 18, 2025

On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Psychico College High School participated in the event titled "Stefanos Trachanas: The student and the teacher," held at the French Institute of Greece in Athens. The event was organized by Crete University Press as part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology and was dedicated to the teaching of physics and the unique relationship that develops between student and teacher.

Psychico College High School was represented by two Grade 2 students, Eleni Rodi and Dimitrios Vrongistinos. The students were selected based on their outstanding performance in Physics and/or their distinction in the "Aristotle" competition in High School Grade 1. They were accompanied by their Physics teacher, Mr. Vasilis Dimopoulos.

Throughout the evening, the students had the opportunity to be inspired by the pedagogical approaches of Stefanos Trachanas. Ioannis Iliopoulos, emeritus research director at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), member of the Theoretical Physics Laboratory at the École Normale Supérieure, and member of the French Academy of Sciences, spoke about Mr. Trachanas's contribution to physics education and the deeply human dimension of his teaching philosophy.

Our School's participation in this event offered students a unique experience, strengthening their interest in Physics and highlighting the importance of scientific thinking and the pedagogical relationship.
